Q-146   Normalization Modification

This non-powered module is basically a multiple, with behind-the-panel extension-cord connections. Inserting a switch at the input jack of the Q-146 Normalization Module allows you to switch that input on or off, without having to pull or insert the patchcord. This is quite handy when alternating between playing the keyboard and sequencer or sample/hold since you can't have two or more gates active at once. Actually, you could insert a switch on each jack if you wanted to. There's a lot of empty space on the rear of the Q-146... space that could be used for switches, or even more jacks. But- realize that you may have to encroach on some of the silkscreening, just depending. It's not just the hole or shaft of the switch or jack... it's also the nut (and washer, if you choose to use one) which you have to consider.

It's possible to build your own 'normalization' module(s)... from blank panels, empty space on some other module(s), or even the Q-124 Multiples Module ... but the Q-146 comes complete with everything you need... the wire, the switching jacks... everything. This is a very good utility module to have, reducing patchcord clutter, and reducing patching time and hassle. Remember that because switching jacks are used, you can over-ride the normalized patches by simply inserting a patchcord into the jacks.
